In celebration of the games' 15th anniversary, Nintendo will release a special edition Switch Lite emblazoned with the legendary Dialga and Palkia in November.

Sinnoh Remakes Include New Game Mechanics

In that presentation, the Pokémon Company showed off some new features that weren't in the original games, but were included in the remakes. One of them is the option to walk with one of the team's Pokémon outside the Poké Ball, as in Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee.

Another system that debuts in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is the customization of the protagonists, who can have different skin colors and wear other clothes in addition to the standard look.

In addition, some activities that already existed in the original games received new functions in the remakes. In Pokémon Contests, players will be able to participate in Super Contest Shows — a dance contest in which they must hit the commands in time to the music to use the moves.

The system of decorating Poké Balls with stickers also returns in the remakes. Custom effects appear whenever a Pokémon is put into battle. It is possible to apply animations of confetti, fireworks, among others.

In the underground of Sinnoh, players will find new “Pokémon hideaways” (Pokémon hideaway). In these areas will appear wild monsters - often exclusive -, which will change depending on the statues that are placed in the secret bases of the Underground.

The underground can still be explored to find rare ores, like evolution stones and fossils, just like in the original games.

The remakes' graphics have been polished since the last trailer

Much criticized when the game was first revealed, the graphics for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were polished, with improvements to textures and lighting effects such as reflections and shadows. In addition, the Pokémon Company promises other quality-of-life gameplay updates.

Finally, the plot of the remakes will follow the well-known story of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl: obtain the eight badges from the Sinnoh gyms, challenge the Elite 4 and defeat the champion of the region, Cynthia. Along the way, you'll also need to stop the Galactic team from creating a new universe with the time and space powers of the legendary Dialga and Palkia.
