Pokémon Go Temporarily Doubles Distance to Gyms

A temporary measure in Pokémon Go has doubled the distance required for players to access Gyms and Raid Battles. Niantic is still planning some changes in Pokémon Go, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and Ingress to allow players to remain active, even without being able to leave their homes due to the coronavirus pandemic, which causes Covid-19.

Until a future update, players will be able to interact with Gyms from a greater distance, doubled from what was previously required. The change includes claiming, placing defending Pokémon or rotating the Gym's photodisks, and also participating in Raid Battles, keeping a safer distance from another player who is also nearby.

Pokestops have not changed.

Playful Pokemon event

The Playful Pokémon event, which runs until April 7, makes certain species appear more frequently in the wild: Gastly, Haunter, Voltorb, Sudowoodo, Aipom, Croagunk, and Foongus. In addition, Stunfisk will make its debut in Pokémon Go: it can be found in Field Research and XNUMXK Eggs.

Ditto will also appear more often, including in ways that were not previously known. To reveal it, you must capture the Pokémon.
