Remote raids let you battle from anywhere

As Remote Reides will be possible through the Passe de Reide Remota, a new item that will be available in the store and will allow access to any Gym visible on the map that the player can touch. Each item grants access to one Raid Battle.

Niantic said 20 players can participate in a Raid Battle, with "a limited number of trainers using the Remote Raid Pass". It was unclear, however, if all 20 who can join a Raid at once will be able to do remote access, or if only a portion (perhaps on a first-come, first-served basis) will be able to play from a distance.

In the beginning, the attack power of a player who battles from a distance will be the same as someone who is in the Gym in person. However, as time passes, the advantage will be with whoever is on the spot and the player who battles in a Remote Raid will have their attack power reduced.

There will be a 1 PokéCoin bundle with Remote Raid Passes available in the Store. After that, each item will cost 100 coins — and there is also a limit to how many each player can store.

Daily Bonuses: Tasks and Companion Pokémon

Every day at midnight, a new Field research will be awarded to the player, without having to spin a Pokéstop to obtain it. These tasks will focus on activities that can be completed at home. If a player already has all three slots occupied for Field Research, a fourth slot will be added to receive the daily task.

Similar to this will happen with the companion pokemon: When a player is low on Gifts — items to send to other players and that give items — the Pokémon will visit nearby Pokéstops and bring some to its owner, regardless of the companion level reached.

Gameplay Enhancements

Taking advantage of the Pokémon Go update, Niantic has also improved some in-game features:

  • strengthen pokemon: it will now be possible to do this in one go, strengthening the Pokémon with more Candy and Stardust up to the desired CP;
  • Multiple Lucky Eggs, Incense and Star Pieces: the player will be able to activate up to 200 effect items at once, without having to wait for the duration (30 minutes) of each one to end before being able to use it again;
  • O store icon will have a notification counter if there are new items available for purchase (like the weekly bundle or promo boxes).
