Pokémon releases GO and Home integration, but not for everyone

As promised, Pokémon GO was integrated into Pokémon Home and players can transfer the captures from the mobile version to the Nintendo Switch. However, only level 40 trainers have access to the function and with a weekly “energy” cap, unless you pay 1.000 coins in Pokémon GO to move more in less time.

Update: Players of any level can now transfer from Go to Home, the feature has been released gradually, by level ranges.

Pokémon Home was released in February of this year, to replace Pokémon Bank and allow players to transfer their little monsters between games in the franchise. So far, it is possible to send to Home from Pokémon Let's Go Eevee! & Pikachu! and Sword & Shield. With GO integration, those caught in the pocket version will also be able to be uploaded to the eighth-gen game.

The thing is, only Pokémon GO level 40 trainers have access to the function and even with a power limitation on the so-called “GO Transporter”: 10 per week. As Serebii points out, each transfer from GO to Home has a cost, which varies depending on the Pokémon's type.

This energy is recharged by 60 points every hour, it takes a full week to get the 10K back. But since Pokémon GO makes billions, of course there is a method to speed up the process: if the player pays 1.000 coins (the equivalent of R$ 19), they can have 10 energy points immediately.

If the player has a Legendary Shiny, all energy is already consumed, as this Twitter user describes:

They're charging $10 (or 7 days) to transfer ONE of MY Shiny Legendary Pokemon (which I spent god knows how much $ on raid passes) over to Pokemon Home. I also have to already have to own the Pokemon in SwSh, or it's stuck in Home.

Just take the feature back, we don't want it. pic.twitter.com/eB0yUoQq3M

They're charging me $10 (or seven days) to transfer one of my Shiny Legendaries (which I spent God knows how much on Raid Passes) to Pokémon Home. Plus I need to have a copy of Pokémon Sword & Shield so it doesn't get stuck in Home.

For whom is it interesting?

Pokémon Home is interesting for those who have the Nintendo Switch and more than one game in the franchise, such as Let's Go Eevee! & Pikachu! and Sword & Shield. Especially to the most attached players and who had more memorable achievements, such as a Shiny Pokémon or a Legendary and Mythical difficult to obtain.

It is possible to bring the species captured in previous games (X, Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon), linking it with the Pokémon Bank, and then sending it to Home.

Home is the current method for saving Pokémon caught in various games and transferring them to current and future releases. It also facilitates the process for competitive players, instead of having to train a Pokémon from the beginning, it will be enough to transfer between games with Home.

There are restrictions, however:

  • When sending from Let's Go to Sword & Shield, it is not possible to return the Pokémon to Let's Go;
  • When sending from Pokémon GO to Home, it will not be able to return to GO;
  • To transfer from GO to Sword or Shield via Home, these species must have been previously captured in the eighth generation game.
