First: is a shiny Pokemon stronger?

No!

Shiny Pokémon are rare, that's a fact, but they're not stronger than regular Pokémon. They bring a different coloring that makes them special.

The search for shiny is more linked to the fact that the player wants to have a special and somewhat exclusive Pokémon on the team, which makes it stand out from all the others found on the map.

What makes one Pokémon stronger than another is the Individual Values (IV's: Individual Values), which are assigned when a Pokémon hatches from an Egg or is found and captured.

These attributes set the attack, special attack, defense, special defense, health, and speed levels from 0 to 31. They make more of a difference at higher levels and in competitive modes. For the normality of the series, it doesn't matter.

How to find a shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Let's Go

The chance of a shiny spawning is 1 in 4096. It's such a random process that it might appear right at the beginning of your quest (or even if you're not looking for one) or it might take a very long time. In Pokémon Let's Go there are a few methods to increase this window of opportunity.

• Make capture combos;
• Use Lure;
• Ter o item Shiny Charm.

The capture combos are the capture sequences of the same Pokémon. The more times the same Pokémon is caught, the more chances of encountering a shiny increase.

You can check the combo number after capturing the Pokemon. This method also works to find Pokémon with up to four IVs maximum, the remaining two will only be possible to increase via NPC, at Pokémon level 100.

It is important to remember that the capture combo can be broken he:

• The Pokemon run away;
• You capture another species of Pokémon;
• You exit the game.

Lures were introduced in mobile Pokémon Go, which makes more creatures appear in less time. There are Lure, Super Lure and Max Lure in Pokémon Let's Go, which vary in the amount of steps the character takes in the scenario. Use wisely, they are expensive.

Already Shiny Charm is an item obtained after completing the Pokédex with 150 Pokémon — no Mew required, as it only comes with the Poké Ball Plus. After keeping in mind that these three features increase the chance of finding a shiny, just go to the respawn of the Pokémon you want to find in the different version and keep capturing it non-stop.

Tip: if you don't know where the Pokémon respawns are, go to the Pokédex, select the Pokémon and access the "Check habitat" option. The map will be displayed with the Pokémon's locations.

After reaching the mark of 31 capture combos, it is no longer necessary to spend items to continue catching Pokémon, as the chances will not increase from this number.

My tip is:

1. Capture up to combo 31, if possible using regular Poké Balls;
2. Then activate Lure and let the Pokémon spawn naturally, dodging them until the shiny appears.

It's a lucky process, it may or may not take time. I went after a Staryu (it's one of the prettiest shinies for me) and caught most of the ones that appeared in front of me to keep count. Result is that the Pokémon appeared in combo 137!

In another moment, a shiny Graveler appeared without even me having a combo from it, totally random.

But what about the legendary?

There are Pokémon such as the legendary trio (Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno), Mew, Mewtwo and the fossils that do not respawn. The method players use to get this shiny version is to save the game before entering the battle or receiving them (in the case of fossils) and restarting the game at that point until the system delivers a shiny.

However, this method is much more work than that of common Pokémon, as the chances remain between 1 and 4096. Fossils can follow this same strategy, but they are items that can be found around the map, just gathering a few dozen over time.
