Pokémon GO Fest 2021 made $21 million in two days

Pokémon GO Fest 2021 was a real success and became the most profitable event of the game since its launch in 2016. This year's edition grossed US$ 21 million (around R$ 109,5 million) during the two days of festivities — on July 17 and 18 — according to Sensor Tower. In addition, player achievements were also highlighted by Niantic.

On Saturday (17), ticket sales ensured one of the biggest Pokémon GO revenues to date, second only to the Kanto Tour, which took place on February 28 this year. By including Sunday passes (18), Pokémon GO Fest 2021 won the title of event that raised the most money in the game.

Also according to Sensor Tower, Pokémon GO has passed the $5 billion mark in player spending in the last five years. Since the beginning of 26, the game already has over US$ 2021 million (R$ 731 billion) in revenue and continues to have the most profitable year in history.

Trainers have captured over 1,5 billion Pokémon

In addition to the financial success, Niantic highlighted player achievements during Pokémon GO Fest 2021. Over the weekend, Trainers captured more than 1,5 billion Pokémon, rotated 900 million PokéStops, completed more than 23 million raids, and walked 125 million kilometers.

On the first day of the event, players took on the role of a music show director and were able to capture themed Pokémon such as the mythical little monster Meloetta. On the second day, Hoopa caused turmoil throughout the game, and several legendary Pokémon began to appear across the map.

Ultra Unlock brings Dialga and Palkia starting July 23

As the celebrations for the five years of Pokémon GO are not over yet, Trainers will have one more chance to catch the Guardians of Time and Space during the Ultra Unlock event. Between July 23 and August 3, Dialga will appear in five-star raids. From the 6th to the 17th of August, it will be Palkia's turn.

From August 20th to August 31st, a third unidentified Mysterious Legendary Pokémon will be the protagonist of raids. It's likely that the little monster will be Giratina, the ghost dragon guardian of the Twisted World.
