This list was made based on the release date of each game (from the most recent to the oldest), the article does not cover which is the best Pokémon for Nintendo's hybrid console. With that in mind, let's get started.

1. Pokémon Unite

Two teams of 5 Pokémon face off in fun and unpredictable matches in this free-to-play MOBA. Pokémon Unite was released with a lot of excitement from the community, making it easy to find matches and develop your style of play.

There are classes among the little monsters as well as in classics like League of Legends, but the mechanics are a little simpler, making the game very dynamic. If you're new to the genre, Pokémon Unite is a great choice on Nintendo Switch.

New Pokémon Snap is one of those games made especially for fans. We play on the islands of the Lental region, there are beautiful landscapes in every corner. The player's objective is to explore and take as many photos as possible of the Pokémon he encounters.

This mechanic works very well, as it brings diverse elements such as discovery and improvement during gameplay. Seeing the many little monsters in their natural habitat is a treat, something hardly found in Pokémon games available for the Nintendo Switch.

4. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is yet another game with a different feel to what many are used to. This series started on the Game Boy Advance, bringing dungeon-crawling gameplay, with dungeon exploration where each step and each attack serves as a turn to be played.

The most interesting thing is that the player does not play as a trainer, but as a talking Pokémon. From there, other little monsters appear joining the team and creating a community within this game for Nintendo Switch.

5. Pokémon Sword e Shield

The first all-new generation released for the Nintendo Switch didn't come without criticism. Fans complained about the presentation as a whole, from the graphics to the sound that the little monsters make. Anyway, both Pokémon Sword and Shield bring a complete adventure, full of gyms, exploration and lots of battles to challenge the trainer.

As always, the different versions have different Pokemon to catch, but this time there are also different gyms between the titles. For example, in Pokémon Shield, the leader of the fourth gym the player visits is Allister, a ghost-type specialist. In the Sword version, the leader of this gym is Bea, a trainer specialized in the fighting type.

In 2020, two expansions were released for Pokémon Sword and Shield, both bringing even more content. The first, called The Isle of Armor, places the player in another part of the Galar region, full of beaches and nature. There are new Pokémon to meet, items to acquire, and places to explore. However, the highlight is to find new characters that will trigger a new narrative to the game for Nintendo Switch.

The second expansion is called The Crown Tundra. Just like the previous one, it brings similar news, but with an atmosphere of pure ice and snow. The highlight goes to the option to participate in Max Raid Battles to capture all the legendary Pokémon that have appeared in the games in the series.

6. Pokemon Quest

Before any mainline game appeared on the Nintendo Switch, Pokémon Quest was already being liked by players. The adventure takes place on the island of Tumblecube, where the little monsters have turned into cubes.

The gameplay is simple, we choose a trio of Pokémon that move alone across the map. We only choose attacks when we enter battle. The objective is to collect items and improve our companions. It's all fun, but it gets tiring quickly.

7. Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu e Eevee

The first generation of little monsters is loved to this day. Pokémon like Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, and Pikachu are still among fan favorites. Thinking about it, it's easy to understand the release of Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee for Nintendo Switch.

The games have a gameplay very similar to the most classic versions of the franchise, with a lot of exploration, acquisition of items and battles in gyms. The big news is that elements of Pokémon Go have been added as a way to capture the little monsters without having to participate in combats and the gameplay is more simplified. Even so, for those who already like the series and still have nostalgia for the beginning of the journey, these games are more than passionate.

The differences between the titles are, once again, directed at the Pokémon that can be found, in addition to the starter that follows the player.

The gameplay brings elements from games like Tekken and even Super Smash Bros., especially in the special moves of each Pokémon. There are online leaderboards and robust single-player modes, pleasing the most distinguished fans. If you want to know, don't forget that there's a demo to download on Nintendo Switch.
