Pokémon Unite gets dates to come to Nintendo Switch and mobile phones

Pokemon Unite, the Moba-style game of Pokémon, will come to Nintendo Switch in July, with no more specific day yet. The mobile versions arrive from September, on Android and iOS, with the right to multiplayer compatible with the console edition. The game will come in several languages, but not in Portuguese.

The games are scheduled to arrive in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. This and other news were revealed with a new trailer, which shows a little more of what to expect regarding the game. The video reveals that, for example, Pokémon will be able to use skins, or costumes, to customize the player's experience - something very common in Mobas.

The video also showcased some of the real-time battles, as well as a beautiful CGI scene, confirming some of the little monsters we can expect in the action and competitive game.

Lucario, Pikachu, Mr. Mime, Snorlax, Slowpoke, Froakie, Scorbunny and Gible are some of the participants. Apparently Pokémon can evolve and return to earlier stages during combat, similar to what happens in Digimon.

Pokémon Moba

The game resembles League of Legends, both are competitive MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) genre, which pits five players against five others. Each team must defend its base, while trying to destroy the opposing team's.

Despite the similarity to League of Legends by genre, there is a difference in mechanics. Victory is defined by points, not destroyed towers. These points are earned by capturing other wild Pokémon across the map.

On the other hand, there are still duels, after all, it's about Pokémon. Each player controls a monster with unique abilities — like LoL champions. Points obtained from wild captures also yield experience that can make the main Pokémon evolve, strengthening it.
