Pokémon Legends: Arceus is an open world game on Nintendo Switch

The Pokémon Company surprised and announced the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, scheduled for early 2022, on Nintendo Switch. The title will be an open world, in a kind of environment simulating “feudal Japan”, with new battle and capture mechanics.

The company presented Pokémon Legends: Arceus as “a new era for the Pokémon series”, precisely because it is a game with greater freedom of exploration, apparently gigantic maps, with battles and captures in real time.

A new adventure in Sinnoh

The game takes place in the Sinnoh region, but in a more ancient time. Pokémon roam free in the wild, but people live in the cities around them, as they try to understand the world with the creatures and use them in their daily tasks.

The player will have the opportunity to start the journey with one of these three starters: Rowlet, Cyndaquil and Oshawott. Yes, the three are from different generations, despite the game being set in the Sinnoh region.

The main village will serve as a general base for trainers. Battles appear to be real-time, as does the capture. You'll need to approach the Pokémon slowly and carefully so they don't run away.

Apparently, the game should also bring creatures from all possible generations, although not all.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is in full development and should not have its release date changed. The game is exclusive to Nintendo Switch.
