Pokémon Go creators prepare Transformers game with AR

Pokémon Go developer Niantic will release a Transformers game with Augmented Reality, or “AR”, as it is also called. The game will come to cell phones and Transformers Heavy Metal is the name of the production, which has an official partnership between Hasbro and Tommy in the development.

According to the first information, the game will let you bring characters from the series to the real world. Figures like Bumblebee and other Autobots are mentioned by executive producer Phil Hong.

However, don't get too excited, as the production will take time to reach the market. Niantic plans to do an initial rollout in select countries soon, while the global rollout is not expected to come until later in the year.

Pokémon X Transformers

It is unknown what similarities the game will have with Pokémon Go, in terms of gameplay. From the official website it is possible that it has more similarities with Ingress, another Augmented Reality title from Niantic.

There is the phrase “Join the Guardian Network, as well as the image of a city with multiple points of light, like the Ingress portals. It is possible that the game has some combat element between Autobots and Decepticons, although this is unconfirmed.

It is worth remembering that Niantic has already released other games from famous brands, such as Augmented Reality Harry Potter, and is still working on a Pikmin title in partnership with Nintendo.
