Gardevoir arrives in Pokémon Unite on Wednesday (28) with a lot of area damage

Pokémon Unite will start getting new monsters in the catalog, and the first addition will be Gardevoir — a long-range attacker with psychic and fairy-type moves that deal lots of area damage. The character arrives at the MOBA on Wednesday (28) already with a skin. After Gardevoir, the next Pokémon in the launch queue is Blastoise.

Gardevoir will have its three evolutionary stages in the game. At level 1, the player will start out as Ralts, then evolve into Kirlia at level 6, and finally reach final form at level 10. In Pokémon Unite's rank, Gardevoir has medium difficulty and focuses on dealing explosive damage to opponents.

Gardevoir skills in Pokémon Unite

As a passive ability, Gardevoir can mirror slow and damage over time effects on the Pokémon that used the move. For example, if the player is hit by a Sludge Bomb from Gengar and becomes poisoned, that same poison is applied back to Gengar. Also, every third attack from Gardevoir does more damage and lowers the target's Special Defense for a time.

At the beginning of the game, the player starts with two abilities: Confusion — a simple psychic attack that deals damage in a straight line — and Teleport — which teleports the Pokémon to a specific point and increases the damage of the next basic attack.

Upon evolving into Kirlia at level 6, the Pokémon will replace Confusion with another ability, which can be Psyshock — a circular area attack that deals three times damage — or Future Sight — a bolt of energy that explodes after a while.

At level 8, the trainer must forgo Teleport and choose one of two abilities: Psychic — which launches a projectile forward that explodes at the end, dealing damage and slowing — or Moonblast — in which the Pokémon retreats and strikes opponents with a cone of light that temporarily disables them.

The strongest skill, known as Unite Move, is Fairy Singularity. With it, Gardevoir creates a black hole that sucks in other Pokémon and explodes, dealing massive damage to enemies it hits.
