Blissey is coming to Pokémon Unite as a support that heals and gives buffs

With blows that heal and increase the attack speed of allies, Blissey arrives in Pokémon Unite as a new support in the MOBA of the Nintendo Switch. The normal-type little monster enters the battlefield on August 18th, delaying the release of the highly-anticipated Blastoise by a few more days. In matches, Blissey can calm the aggressive meta dominated by forwards and sprinters.

Blissey joins the support Pokémon catalog, which already includes Eldegoss, Mr. Mime and Wigglytuff. Until then, the class was one of the least represented in the game, with only three little monsters. With the arrival of Blissey, the defender class now has the fewest characters, with just Snorlax, Crustle, and Slowbro.

Still without many details about the moves, developer TiMi has already said that Blissey will have abilities focused on helping allies with healing and attack speed buffs. The Pokémon's Unite Move will be Bliss Assistance, whose effect allows the little monster to advance towards a teammate to protect him.

In the character trailer, it is still possible to see Blissey using the Egg Bomb move to attack opponents. Right at the beginning of the video, you can also see that the little monster puts a kind of shield on Lucario to clear the negative effect of poison applied by Gengar with his Sludge Bomb.

Blissey is an egg-cellent Supporter Pokémon with moves that heal or increase basic attack speed! Its Unite Move, Bliss Assistance, allows it to dash to an ally’s aid and protect that ally from attacks.

It is worth mentioning that Blissey is the last stage of its evolutionary line. Therefore, players are likely to start the game as Chansey, or even as Happiny. For now, we don't know if the Pokémon Happiness will arrive with a skin (holowear), just like Gardevoir.

Blissey can calm Pokemon Unite's aggressive meta

In the current Pokémon Unite meta, Blissey is a much-needed addition. Previously, the only healing-focused little monster option was Eldegoss, which limited the choice of players who preferred to help the team instead of dealing a lot of damage. With the arrival of another healer, matches can become less aggressive and more strategic.

After Blissey, the next Pokemon Unite addition should be Blastoise. The little water monster will be another tank option among the defender class, taking even more focus away from characters with a lot of damage and mobility. However, there is still no exact release date for Pokémon Seafood.
