Adults profit from Happy McLanche Celebrating Pokémon in the USA

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, some McDonald's in the United States began distributing Pokémon Trading Card Game cards when purchasing the Happy McLanche. Fans of the game and collectors ran out of stock at participating stores, as it was a limited edition. The curious thing is that there are already offers of still-sealed promotion boxes sold on eBay, for something around R$ 6.000.

The Happy McLanche package comes with, in addition to the traditional chain meal, an envelope with four Pokémon TCG cards. In total, there are 50 collectibles from this edition (25 normal and 25 holographic) for the 25th anniversary.

Pokémon TCG is one of the highlights of the franchise, with players of all ages — it's a game that doesn't have an expiration date or depends on a console, so the rarer the card, the more you can earn with it. The expectation is that the product will appreciate in value over time, as it is a limited collection - even though McDonald's has not informed how many of these cards will be distributed.

However, those who are not happy with this rarity are children, without the McLanche. Reports point out that some participating stores began to limit the number of combos sold to each person or began to prevent consumers from purchasing the pack of cards without the meal.

On eBay, the holographic version of the Pikachu letter can now be found for almost R$300. Other ads offer all versions of the collection for more than R$1.200. Another intriguing point is that there are offers for closed boxes, with 150 packages, which may not even have reached the stores – these are sold for almost R$ 6.000.

@McDonalds @Pokemon I sure hope you do some form of inventory control for your promo Pokémon cards as some of your stock is being sold in sealed boxes which means they’re not even making it to your stores ? Though same thing happened with Tim Hortons Hockey too. Retail $1.99 ? pic.twitter.com/kX8qZyRX2V

Remembering that each Happy McLanche sells for about 5 dollars (R$ 27), depending on the region — and at least they include the meal.
