Call Of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer will have women and new game modes

Call Of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer will have women and new game modes

This afternoon, Activision presented news of Call Of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer via streaming worldwide. Among the novelties, new game modes and the possibility of choosing the character's gender were announced – which is, surprisingly, quite rare in the genre.

In short, the first game mode looks like a school gymkhana adaptation to the COD world: Search & Rescue is similar to the existing Search & Destroy, in which the player who dies cannot return until the next round. In the new mode, whoever loses gets a dog tag. If the person who gets to it first is from the same team, the player is revived; otherwise, you cannot return until the other game starts.

Cranked is more reminiscent of the movie Adrenaline (which, in English, is called Crank): when killing someone, the player gains a speed boost… But you need to kill another opponent within 30 seconds, otherwise it explodes. It looks like the funniest of the advertised ones.

In another mode, Squad, the player customizes their entire squad of up to 10 soldiers, from their appearance to their perks and loadouts, and the characters created can also earn XP and prestige. So it's possible to play alone, co-op with up to six other people or against another player and their squad.

In the trailer, a little gameplay is shown (and, in case this information is relevant to you, Eminem's new single, Survival):

Moving on to the character customization options, it is possible to choose one of the more than 20 thousand options of available appearance combinations, the most important being the choice of gender; It will be the first time that the game's multiplayer will have women. Activision didn't say much more about this, but it's worth mentioning as we're in this era of Anita Sarkeesian research and campaigns to play Princess Zelda; It's a sign that things are really changing.

Another novelty is an app that adds new experiences to the game by allowing the use of a second screen – nothing very new there; at E3 this year, several games demonstrated this use, such as Dead Rising 3. But, in the Ghosts app, the highlight should be the possibility to manage your squad even away from the computer. Let's say you're coming home from work and want to manage the soldiers to get everything ready for departure; this will be possible with it, in addition to managing loadouts, seeing match statistics and sharing it on social networks.

The app also comes with a game mode called Clan Wars, which isn't very detailed, but can yield rewards for use in Ghosts and in the app itself.

Both the app and the game will be released on November 5th.
