Minecraft's horrible boss Wither is one of the most dangerous mobs in the entire game, alongside the likes of the Ender Dragon, and Bedrock Edition players should take extra precautions before summoning him.
With extra health, a quick attack, and a change to his attack behavior, the Wither is a tough boss to take on in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. Players looking to defeat him should prepare as much as possible, including tons of healing items, food, and ammo. Using high level enchantments on durable diamonds or Netherite gear will also go a long way.
Minecraft: Comparison Between Java and Bedrock Editions
For players who may not know, the Wither boss operates a little differently between versions of Minecraft. While he's certainly not an enemy to play with in Java Edition, his altered behavior and improved health in Bedrock Edition make him an even more imposing foe. Players facing this enemy will want to consider the differences between the game's editions.
The differences in Wither between the two main Minecraft editions are as follows:
Minecraft Java Edition
- Upon encountering a crowd, the Wither will hover in the air and shoot withered skulls at it. Each head fires on its own, allowing her to focus on multiple targets at once. It can also rarely fire a blue withered skull.
- The Wither will not target a player until it damages them.
- The Wither heals half a heart every second, and landing the killing blow on a target will instantly heal them for 2,5 hearts.
- When reduced to half health, wither will gain armor that makes it immune to damage from fired arrows or thrown tridents.
- It has 300 health, equivalent to 150 hearts.
Minecraft: Bedrock Edition
- Upon noticing a crowd, the Wither will fire three withered skulls and one blue withered skull. If the wither cannot find a path to its target on Normal difficulty or higher, it will fire blue punched skulls towards its target as well as in random directions.
- When Minecraft players reduce to half health, the Wither causes an explosion that will spawn Wither Skeletons on Normal difficulty or higher. In addition, he will gain the armor he has in the Java edition. He will also use a dash attack that will damage blocks and mobs in his path.
- It has 600 health, the equivalent of 300 hearts, and double the health of its Java Edition counterpart.
In both editions of Minecraft, the Wither will explode upon death and leave a Wither Rose in its wake. Also, when summoned, the Wither will cause the light level (even during the day) to drop to 11, allowing hostile mobs to appear and attack, unhindered by sunlight.
