The Lingering Potion in Minecraft is a variant of the Splash Potion and leaves behind a cloud when broken that can give status effects if any entity is in it.

They are not found naturally anywhere in the Minecraft world and must be made by players. This is because of an essential component that cannot be funded daily in-game.
How to make a persistent potion in Minecraft?
Players need a beer stand to make an extended potion. Players also need to collect the very rare Dragon Breath item from the Ender Dragon in order to be able to make an Enduring Potion.
The items needed to make an Enduring Potion are:
- Dragon's Breath x1
- Splash Potion x1
Players must combine them in the Beer Holder as follows to make an Enduring Potion.
Uses for lingering potions
Extended potions can be dropped on the ground, similar to splash potions, but stay on the ground longer. When broken, they will create a cloud of status effects that will linger around the broken area for a period of 30 seconds.
Any mobs or players that pass through this cloud will have the status effect. But the duration and effects of the status effect will decrease as the clouds get smaller over time. If the mob stays in the cloud, the status effect can be applied more than once. This can be launched by the players or even the Dispenser.
They are used as crafting ingredients in spiked arrows and can also be used to fill a cauldron.
