Spiky Dripstone is one of the newest blocks added to Minecraft in the Caves & Cliffs Part 1 update. Once the Dripstone Cave Biome is released with the next major update, Spiky Dripstone will form the stalactites and stalagmites in these caves.
As of version 1.17, players can find sharp dripstones in common caves and some ravines, which can be mined using any tool, but faster with the pickaxe. With the addition of drip, lava has become a renewable source in Minecraft.
Players can grow lava by placing a cauldron under a spiked spout with a drip block above it. Then they need to place lava above the drip block, and the spiked drip will start to drip lava, which will collect in the cauldron.

Can players kill the withered with spiked drip in Minecraft 1.17?
Wither is a boss that does not naturally spawn in any dimension. The only way to generate a wither is by using three wither skulls and four blocks of soul sand. Killing this fearsome mob rewards the player with an inferior star that can be used to create a lighthouse.
Defeating this dangerous mob is challenging as it shoots skulls wither quickly at the player and has 300-600 health depending on the platform (Java or Bedrock). Despite this, some players have found a relatively easy method of doing this.
After pinning a withers, players can kill it with spiked drip blocks. These falling drip blocks deal so much damage that if wilt is hit consecutively by them, it can die in under 10 seconds in Java Edition.
How to easily kill withered with spiked drip?
The player first needs to pin the withers to rocky blocks, as the withers explode when spawned. Players can do this on the rocky base present in the last five layers of the overworld. Once trapped, players can make a tunnel above it, through which the jagged stone will fall.
