Illagers in Minecraft were introduced in the Villagers & Pillagers update and are the evil clan of villagers. They are distinctive in appearance because of their gray skin and brown clothing. There are a variety of Illagers that can spawn in the world with various powers, from melee warriors to magical mystics.

Minecraft Captain Ilager
This is a variant of Illager that carries a Pillager banner that is unique and can only be found dropped by this mob.

Location and Spawns
- A Minecraft Captain Illager will always spawn into an Illager patrol, which is a group of Illager walking around the Overworld. The captain can be a marauder wielding a crossbow or a Vindicator wielding an axe.
- They will also spawn during Party Raids and can even spawn on Ravager in this scenario. When killed in this one, other raid marauders will rush to pick up the fallen flag.
- Marauder outposts also have a chance to spawn Illager Captains that are always marauders.
- Woodland Mansions also has a chance to spawn this mob.
drops and effects
Minecraft Illager captains are a special mob that drops the Pillager's unique banner pattern when killed. If a player kills the captain, he will be affected by the Bad Omen Status effect.
This Status effect will trigger a Raid when players enter any village while the effect is active.
When killed, they drop the Banner, EXP points and also have a chance to drop the weapon held.
