What is Love Mode in Minecraft?

In Minecraft, players can create additional mobs of certain types by creating them, and a state known as Love Mode is an integral part of this process.

Without Love Mode, nearby mobs cannot breed. Most animals are set to Love Mode manually when the player feeds them the appropriate food.

Minecraft villagers, on the other hand, will enter the PHASE and breed based on a hidden “willingness” stat that increases when certain conditions are met and there are enough beds in the village to facilitate a new villager.

Getting each mobs into Love Mode requires slightly different circumstances, but once they enter it, the creation work is done automatically by the mobs themselves.

Minecraft: Does each mob require different items for Love Mode?

What is Love Mode in Minecraft?

With so many mobs capable of entering Love Mode and breeding, it can be tricky for Minecraft players to remember the specific items of each. A list of them can be found below:

  • horses – Golden Apples, Enchanted Golden Apples and Golden Carrots
  • Cattle - Wheat
  • Sheep - Wheat
  • Chickens – Wheat, beet, pumpkin or melon seeds
  • Pigs – Carrots, potatoes or beets
  • Cabras - Wheat
  • Donkeys – Golden Apples, Enchanted Golden Apples and Golden Carrots
  • Mooshrooms - Wheat
  • tamed wolves – Most forms of meat, cooked or raw.
  • domesticated cats – Cod or raw salmon
  • ocelots – Cod or raw salmon
  • Rabbits – Golden carrots, standard carrots and dandelions
  • Turtles - Seaweed
  • axolotls – Tropical fish buckets
  • domesticated llamas - Hay bales
  • Bees - flowers
  • Foxes – Sweet Berries e Glow Berries
  • pandas – Bamboo
  • Pilgrims – Warped Fungus
  • hoglins – Crimson Fungus

In most cases, simply using these items on the desired Minecraft mob will put them into Love Mode. After that, players will need to find a partner nearby and repeat the process for easier reproduction.

Before long, the two mobs will reproduce and produce offspring. However, they will also be set on a cool down timer where they cannot breed. This timer has a total of five minutes for animals.

When it comes to creating villagers in Minecraft, things get a little more complicated. Villagers breed based on will rather than being fed certain items. The most foolproof way to ensure villagers breed is to provide plenty of beds in safe places within the village.

Also, Minecraft players can trade with their villagers to increase their disposition. Villagers will also potentially be willing to breed when they have three pieces of bread, 12 carrots, 12 potatoes, or 12 beets in their in-game inventory.

Players must also prevent villagers from dying or their property from being damaged or destroyed, as this puts them in a state of “mourning” that prevents them from breeding for some time.
