Turtle shells have many uses, but defense is not one of them! players can use them in their inventory helmet slots. The helmet only provides 2 points of armor. While this is on par with Iron Helmets, its other uses overshadow its armor!
How to make a Minecraft Turtle Shell?
Players only need one item to make a Turtle Shell, but it is not readily available. This is Scute, which is only dropped by a baby turtle when it becomes an adult turtle. This is rare and players can farm turtles to get lots of them!

Uses for tortoise shells
- The Turtle Shell in Minecraft can be equipped in the Helmet slot and provides players with 2 points of armor, which is similar to an Iron Helmet.

- They also have more durability than iron helmets and chain mail!
