mangrove trunks

Mangrove trees will have mid-height mangrove trunks supporting the tree's body. These can be found in swamps and on mangrove farms.

mangrove planks

Mangrove Planks are the processed form of Mangrove Logs and can be used to make structures or other blocks such as fences and trapdoors. However, they have not yet been confirmed.

Mangrove propagule (bud)

Manguezal Propagule is the first seedling that can be planted both on land and underwater to grow. This will lead to a fully grown mangrove tree and can be further accelerated with bone meal.

mangrove roots

Mangrove trees are supported by a thick cluster of roots beneath the base of the tree. There will be two distinct root forms, for underwater and in the ground.

Lama

This is the last dirt-like block to be announced in Minecraft The Wild Update and can be used in a variety of ways. Players can empty a water bottle into a dirt block to turn it into a mud block. In addition, players can also drain all the water from the mud block with a Dripstone to make Clay!

mud bricks

Mud bricks are the building material that can be worked with mud blocks. They need to be mixed with Sand and Wheat, but the exact recipe for making them has not been revealed.

Sculk

Carved blocks are the feature of Deep Dark, which has been deferred to the Wild update instead of the Caves and Cliffs update. This will show the Sculk infestation spreading through the ancient cities of deep darkness. This will be done when a mob that drops EXP dies near a Sculk Catalyst, turning blocks next to it into Sculk blocks.

This can be broken to get EXP.

The Sculk Catalyst was introduced in Minecraft Live 2021 and is responsible for consuming any EXP from mobs that die near it and spreading the Sculk to nearby blocks.

Sculk Shriekers

Sculk Shriekers will emit a loud sound when any Sculk Sensors near them are triggered. This can summon the Warden if triggered too many times.

Sensor Sculk

The Sculk Sensor is a block that is triggered by sounds and vibrations near it and glows with a blue animation. This can capture players' movements and allow the Director to know their location.

Frame Block

Ancient Cities are one of the main highlights of the new Deep Dark and will introduce players to new stone blocks that will make up their structures. They are currently known as the Frame block, but the official name has yet to be revealed.
