It's aptly named Minecraft Hell due to its red theme, monsters, and oceans of lava that make up the dimension. Some naturally generated structures are found in the Nether and Overworld, and one of the main ones is the ruined Portals.

Minecraft Ruined Portal
This is a naturally generated structure that arises in both the Overworld and the Nether realms. They are randomly generated and can contain some good loot if players are lucky.

Ruined portals are randomly generated naturally when the world is created. They are a rare spawn and can spawn in all biomes of the Overworld and Nether dimension. They can even spawn underground or underwater.
Ruined Minecraft portals are marked by the Netherack blocks that surround the portal and create a red area around them. A puddle of lava may also be present at the bottom. There is also a rare chance that a giant ruined portal will appear.
Some of the portal blocks vary depending on the biome they spawn in.
Organization
The portal itself is composed of Obsidian and Weeping Obsidian. To make the portals work again, players need to remove any crying obsidian from the frame.
Portal frames are broken on spawn and are surrounded by netherack and lava. The destroyed overworld portals are surrounded by stone structures, while the Nether variant has black stone structures around them.
Each ruined portal spawns with a chest next to it, which can contain a lot of gold and obsidian items.
