Mojang revealed the Caves & Cliffs update on October 3, 2020 during the Minecraft 2020 live event. Many new changes and additions were revealed, and in order to release them all smoothly, Mojang decided to split the update into two parts.

Some of the revealed features have already been included in the game via Minecraft 2 Caves & Cliffs Update 1.17. Below is a list of features that were not included in the first part of the update.

1) New biomes and increased world altitude
Minecraft caves are finally getting a makeover and three new biomes will be introduced. The new biomes are lush caves, dripstone caves, and deep darkness. In addition to biomes, three new generations of noise caves will be added to the game: cheese, spaghetti and pasta.
2) Lush caves
Lush caves will have unique flora and fauna with rooted earth and dangling roots. Players will also be able to find a unique food item called a glowing berry in these caves. Bats, axolotls, and glowing squids will also spawn here, along with monstrous monsters. Finding lush cave biomes will be easy as azaleas will spawn in open spaces above them on the surface.
3) Dripstone caves
Dripstone caves are a little scarier than lush caves as there is no light source inside them. Therefore, many hostile mobs such as creepers and skeletons can spawn there. This cave biome will be the main source of spiked drippers and dripping blocks for players.
4) Deep dark
Deep dark is one of the most mysterious biomes in the update. As Mojang revealed, this biome will spawn in the depths, and new sculpt blocks can be found there.
5) Changes in world height and mountain sub-biomes
Mountains will receive five new sub-biomes: mountain meadows, high peaks, snowy slopes, snow-capped peaks and mountain forests. The height of the world generation will be increased up and down: Y 384 up and Y -64 down. Players will still be able to build up to level 319.
The new mob, blocks and items
Since the reveal, players have been eagerly waiting for the director. Unfortunately, Mojang decided to add it to the game in update 1.18. The Warden is a blind mob that lives in the darkness of deep, dark caves. They will always be hostile to the player.

The warden has a sensor-like block carved into its head that allows it to detect vibrations such as the player's footsteps. A sculpt sensor is a new sculpt block found in the same biome as the warden. It can detect vibrations and emit Redstone signals.
In Update 1.18, players will be able to use a new storage item called a bundle. It has sixty-four “package slots”. The items stored in it can be sixty-four different items or a pile of the same thing.
If an item cannot be packaged like a sword, it will occupy all slots in the package. Players will be able to craft it using six rabbit skins and two ropes. Along with the packs, another item called goat horns is coming in the update, making an identical sound to the horn head during attacks. Players will only obtain it when a goat hits a solid block and lets go of its horns.
