Unfortunately, the update wasn't that exciting because the more exciting features announced in Minecraft Live 2020 weren't a part of it.

The update has been split into two different segments to roll out all the new features as smoothly as possible. Even though update 1.17 doesn't have many cool features, some useful items and blocks like spyglass, colored glass and drip were added to the game.

Three new cave biomes are coming to the game via update 1.18. These biomes are lush caves, dripstone caves, and deep darkness. In addition to biomes, new generations of noise caves are also coming in the update, called cheese, spaghetti and macaroni.

Sculpture sensor (

Sculptures are mysterious blocks that grow in the deep, dark biomes of caves. Sculk sensors are Sculk blocks currently present in version 1.17 and can be obtained using the command “/give”.

Carving sensors are blocks of redstone that can detect vibrations and emit redstone signals. These vibrations can be anything like a player's footsteps or a block being placed.
