Los Santos Tuners has added some necessary features to GTA Online that make drifting a lot easier. This includes low-grip tires and a lowered stance option for new tuners.
The new update brings several features to the game that re-categorized GTA Online in the racing genre. This includes new race-ready tuners and some exciting races to take part in, alongside a car shop and LS Car Meet.
It has already become the most popular update in GTA Online history, with the maximum number of players registered on launch day. Low Grip tires and stance modifications have undoubtedly drawn many racing and drifting fans to the game.
GTA Online Tuners: How to Install Low Grip Tires on a Car
Note: Low Grip tires are only applicable to new tuners and can only be fitted to the Mod Shop within the LS Car Meet.
GTA Online players who want to install Low Grip tires on their cars must do the following:
- The first step is for players to visit the LS Car Meet warehouse. If they don't already have a subscription, they should buy one for $50.000.
- Once inside the desired vehicle, they must press LCtrl, which opens a pop-up menu. Players will have to press G, as instructed, to bring the car to the Mod Shop.
- They should select the Wheels category in the Mod Shop, then go to Tires > Tire Upgrades.
- Low grip tires are available to install from this menu at the price of $500.
Low Grip tires should only be installed by players who want to drift in GTA Online. While there are many regular cars in GTA Online that could benefit from this feature, Rockstar has made it exclusive to new tuners.
As such, the low-slung option and low-grip tires are only accessible to these new cars. Some cars in this update are perfectly capable of floating without installing these tires or reducing their stance. They are the Dinka RT3000, the Vulcar Warrener HKR and the Karin Futo GTX.
Low Grip tires are definitely not recommended for racing as they make the car very slippery. If used in a race in GTA Online this can result in massive oversteering and slipping. Also, skidding is not ideal for driving in a race, and grip racing is much more preferable.
