The Cayo Perico Heist update introduced exciting new missions, activities, and a new heist for players to do. It came with a lot of new activities to do on the water. Before that, players didn't have much incentive to get in the water. The assault on Cayo Perico changed all that. One of these included activities is a hidden treasure hunt. This article covers the steps to find sunken treasure in GTA 5.

GTA 5: How to find an underwater treasure:
Step 1: Open a public GTA Online session.
Step 2: Buy a Kosatka submarine along with the Sonar upgrade. (Ignore if already purchased) Buying a mini-sub is also recommended as it makes everything easier to get the treasure, but it's not mandatory.
Step 3: Enter the submarine and enter the control terminal to drive the Kosatka.
Step 4: Turn on the sonar system.
Step 5: Treasure caches now appear as flashing chest-like icons on the map. Drive towards any of these treasure stashes.
Step 6: Stop the Kosatka near a hideout and dive underwater to collect it. Alternatively, the mini-sub can also be used to collect treasure.
Step 7: Each cache gives $7.500 and 50 RP when collected. There are 10 caches hidden in random locations on the map.
Step 8: New caches are generated in new locations every day. Players can collect all 10 caches every day to earn $75.000 and 500RP per day.
