For each of the GTA 3 hidden packs you pick up, you will receive a $1.000 bonus, which is much more generous than in subsequent games. You will also unlock the following weapon/item spawns in your safe houses for every 10 packs found:
- 10 hidden GTA 3 packs: Gun
- 20 GTA 3 Hidden Packs: Uzi
- 30 hidden GTA 3 packs: Pomegranates
- 40 GTA 3 Hidden Packs: Shotgun
- 50 hidden GTA 3 packs: body armor
- 60 GTA 3 Hidden Packs: Molotov cocktails
- 70 GTA 3 Hidden Packs: AK-47
- 80 hidden GTA 3 packs: sniper rifle
- 90 GTA 3 Hidden Packs: M16
- 100 hidden GTA 3 packs: Rocket launcher but $ 1.000.000
Finding 20 hidden GTA 3 packs should be your initial goal, as it means you'll have a steady supply of Uzi ammo to get through in a vehicle. You should also aim to gather 50 packs as quickly as possible after unlocking the second island, as this means you will always have a supply of Body Armor to keep you protected as the combat difficulty increases throughout the story.
