After all the legal battles between Epic and Apple, there might finally be the good news of Fortnite Returning to iOS. Apple has faced one of its most serious legal threats in recent years; a test that threatens to overturn its tight grip on the App Store, which brings in billions of dollars each year while powering more than 1,6 billion iPhones, iPads and other devices.

Epic, on the other hand, is an American video game and software developer and publisher based in Cary, North Carolina, which also earns billions from its game releases. The article talks about the possibilities of Fortnite returning to iOS after all the legal battles.

Fortnite Returning to iOS?

Apple and Epic Games had already met in court to decide one of the most important antitrust arguments in the history of the tech industry. The trial lasted nearly a year, following Apple's removal of Fortnite from the App Store in August 2020. Epic had given Fortnite players on iOS and Google Play a choice between paying Apple or Google and paying directly from Apple. Epic, passing the savings on to direct buyers. Both Apple and Google retaliated by blocking Fortnite updates followed by Apple's threat to stop Epic from building software for all Apple devices, including the Unreal Engine.

However, recently, many popular Fortnite YouTubers such as Ali-A and Saunders Tech have uploaded clips showing the possibility of Fortnite returning to iOS, which was instinctively followed by a small update that is taking over the Fortnite iOS community. Ali-A also talked about a season 5 trailer video that recently appeared in detail on Twitter.

Apple required Epic to revert Fortnite to exclusively use Apple Payments. Their proposal was an invitation for Epic to collude with Apple to maintain its monopoly over in-app payments on iOS, suppressing open-market competition and inflating prices. Although Apple says Epic is causing its own problems and could return to the App Store if it simply removes the offending payments system. Epic's Sweeney says he's defending all developers on Apple's platform.



So while Apple refuses to allow Fortnite to do so and EPIC complies with Apple's payment policies, there may not be a chance that all is equal.
