Five missions in GTA San Andreas that deviate from the norm
# 5 – Big Smoke
Big Smoke is a strange mission in GTA San Andreas for several reasons. First, it's a cutscene-only mission, so there's no gameplay in it. Second, he immediately triggers another mission, Sweet & Kendl.
Sweet & Kendl is a regular quest that would fit in with the rest of the game. Still, it's a rare occurrence to have two missions in a row in a GTA game, especially when one of them is just a normal cutscene.
#4 – King in Exile
King in Exile is very similar to the Big Smoke mission in that it's just one cutscene. However, it's what happens after that is more interesting than the quest itself. Usually, CJ gets a call from Catalina near the end of the mission.
However, if CJ dies while on the phone, the usual text “Wasted Mission Failed” will be displayed. Two things make this interesting. First, it means that a player can fail a cutscene mission. Second, the game will be softlock.
The quest marker for King in Exile cannot be re-entered. If the player saves and reloads the file, he still cannot continue in the GTA San Andreas storyline. Therefore, they need to go back to a previous save file in this scenario.
#3 – Learning to fly
Learning to fly is an infamous mission in GTA San Andreas, as it's nothing more than CJ attending pilot school. It's a strange quest in that the player can do whatever they want, however, after talking to Toreno to start the quest.
Most fans will remember this mission because of Mike Toreno's phone calls where he chastises CJ for not attending pilot school. As for the mission itself, it's just a series of pilot lessons, which is a noticeable deviation from the usual GTA mission.

The Los Santos Riots are a fascinating event in GTA San Andreas. Interestingly, these disturbances begin as soon as the mission, Riot, has its opening cutscene. Even if the player fails this mission, they will still see the Los Santos riots in the streets.
That said, the quest itself is pretty generic for such an advanced quest in the game. Players just need to drive Sweet back to Grove Street amidst the dangers of the Los Santos riots.

A quest where players just need to buy a property seems simple enough. For sure, Verdant Meadows is an incredibly simplistic mission in GTA San Andreas. The only goal is for GTA San Andreas players to buy the Verdant Meadows airfield for $80.000.
Mike Toreno gives this mission to CJ, and there is no other mission like it in GTA San Andreas. There is no action or anything else happening; It's just buying a property. This property is essential for the rest of Mike Toreno's quests, but it's strange that an entire quest is dedicated to it.
