Some old-school GTA fans may remember the Grove Street layout better than the streets they used to live on. It's a simple dead-end area, but it's also the most important location in all of GTA San Andreas.

When you think of GTA San Andreas, there's a good chance you're thinking of Grove Street.

Grove Street is arguably one of the most iconic locations in the entire series. All the reasons that make this iconic location stand out in GTA San Andreas can be applied to the rest of the series.

Unsurprisingly, much of Grove Street's grandeur can be attributed to GTA San Andreas' memorable cast of characters and storyline.

5) CJ's First Hideout

The Johnson House (

A player's first hideout is usually one of the most important locations they have access to in a GTA game. It is no different with Johnson House in this regard. However, it is still much more significant than the average stash.

First, it has a legitimate plot importance. This is not a random hotel or apartment rented to the player. Instead, it's tied to one of the most critical events in GTA San Andreas (the Green Saber incident).

Not only that, but players can also passively earn money here. It also has a respectable garage.

4) Several important quests take place there

As far as starting locations go, there's an insane amount of quests that take place on Grove Street. This gets to have more plot-important missions happening here than anywhere else in GTA San Andreas.

Several important quests start here, with some taking place on Grove Street as the main destination. Predictably, this also means that several of the game's most memorable scenes take place here.

3) It's the most important location in all of GTA San Andreas

“Grove Street is king.” There's no doubt that Grove Street is the main location for CJ and his brother Sweet. Grove Street families live here, and most of Los Santos' history is tied to its relationship with the other gangs.

CJ is loyal to the Grove Street families to the end. Rescuing Sweet and returning to prison kicks off the last part of the game's storyline. Of course, this reason is also related to the next entry on this list.

2) The game ends there

A fitting ending to a great game (

End of the Line is the final storyline mission in GTA San Andreas. After CJ's duels with Big Smoke, he and Sweet chase Officer Tenpenny across Los Santos before finally reaching Grove Street.

Tenpenny lost control of his fire truck, crossed the bridge above Grove Street and died in the same neighborhood he tormented.

It's a fitting ending to the story of GTA San Andreas. Not only do several important quests take place in Grove Street, but the game's final quest ends here as well.

1) Several main characters live here

Some of the characters associated with Grove Street (

Grove Street is arguably the most important place in all of Los Santos. Most of the characters relevant to the plot live here (or have lived here). Sweet, CJ, Ryder and OG Loc all live on Grove Street, while Big Smoke and Kendl used to.

This is a big reason why so many missions take place in Grove Street. Typically, GTA games don't have that many named characters living in a small area. In a way, this makes Grove Street feel more closed off.

As far as character concentration is concerned, Grove Street has the most named characters in all of GTA San Andreas.
