Forty servers down today
Fortnite is a very popular battle royale game published by Epic Games. All Fortnite servers will be down today when Epic Games releases update 19.01 on all major platforms. Players received messages like “You are not allowed to play Fifteen Days,” when trying to log into the game.
Downtime usually occurs while there are updates in the game. The first major update since the release of Fortnite Chapter 3 goes live today on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Nintendo and mobile devices. The game starts disabling early afternoon matchmaking and server downtime for a short period of time.
At 13:13 pm ET, Epic Games said it was investigating "an issue" and promised to share more information once it has a solution to the issue. Several streamers reported the matter via Twitter, showing their visible revulsion at the persistent issue, and many also reported that account information is also not available.
The Epic Games Store was also having issues today where some players said they couldn't log in or even access their games to play offline. The platform may even be unavailable for a long time today as there have been no further updates from the employees yet.
“Fortnite is currently unavailable and players are unable to log in while we investigate an issue. We will provide more information when we have a solution to bring the services back online. ” However, on its status website, the company describes the incident as a “major disruption”. That same webpage notes that the Epic Games Store is suffering from "performance degradation".
Players are advised not to try too hard to access the platform during this time, although the issue appears to be temporary and will be fixed soon.
